Alessa's 1st Birthday Box Car

I used a Lori Whitlock file from the Silhouette Store and added a few bits to it.  It took 3 and a half hours to cut and assemble. It was too thick to fit in the envelope so I used a gusseted envelope I also found in the Silhouette Store.  It was a different pattern but had the oranges and greens in it.  The spotty paper is "My Mind's Eye" and the card stock "Core'dinations"  I didn't have any gold glitter card for the star so I spray adhesived a yellow star and used a very fine gold glitter.  The little flower buttons were from Ebay and the gems from my stash.

On back burner

My crafting has been on the back burner a bit due to weddings and illness but I made 3 cards yesterday and 1 unfinished one. The materials were mostly included with this months "" magazine.  The cardstock is gold shimmer card from create and craft and the gems from my stash.

This is the unfinished one now finished.  I added two pearl headed pins to the bow and some gems.

Half Fishermans Rib Hoodie

It took 6 weeks but i'm finally finished!  I still have the buttons to add and there are a few mistakes but I think it looks warm and toastie.

The pattern was from "My Weekly Baby Knits Special no. 5" a vintage magazine.  The original pattern was striped but I loved this yarn as it felt so soft..  I did change the bands a little but think it worked out alright.  This one is not for sale.  It is for my nieces baby (if it;s a boy) due in September and this is a 22" chest.

Also made a couple of cards, but I don't seem to have photographed them.

Lots of starts and stops in my crafting

Got the new issue of "Let's Get Crafting, Knitting & Crochet"  Used the Fairytale slipper pattern to make the light bedsocks my other half has been asking for for a year.  Used cheapo black DK and 5mm needles instead of 3.5mm.  Added some rib to the top to bring it further up his foot, (and also because the pattern called for crochet to finish it off and I can't crochet)  He is very pleased with them.  They are light and do the job.

Made a nice box for the handmade soap I made Pete's sister for her birthday.  Used a double sided card from the now closed Abi's Crafts.

It is plain pink inside and I cut out one of the butterfly motifs to finish it.  It was cut in one piece and the only problem with this is that the butterflies on the fold over top are upside down.

My Niece got engaged on the 25th May so I made them this card.

As the card is heart shaped it won't stand up.  The cutting files are all from the Silhouette store.

The same day I also made an A5 acceptance card to my Nephew's wedding

The backing paper came free with a craft magazine and was double sided so the green strip is the other side.  I added a fabric and a paper flower held together with a flower shaped Papermania brad.  The word "acceptance" is stamped in silver the heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

I also made a birthday card for Pete's sister.  I think it was a free download from card-making-downloads.com

I printed it onto photo paper and initially had a problem with the ink smudging but a few quick spritz of cheap hairspray and it was sealed.  This is also A5 and I added a few pink gems to finish it off.

Inside the card I added a cameo cut sentiment,

Got 4 baby items on the go at the moment.  Had to frog the cotton toddler dress I was knitting as after knitting both the front and the back I realised I was using the wrong sized needles and it was huge (used 300g of yarn instead of 150g) and also I had made a mistake in row 8 of the back and purled part of a knit row.  Still to finish the fisherman's rib hoodie, the striped hoodie, the denim jacket and the millie cardigan.  Think I have another few half done things in my other knitting box.

Made some cards today and a tea bag dispenser box to list for this months charity auctions. I'll post the pics for them tomorrow.

Lots of crafting today

I made Daisy the Rag Doll from a kit that came with the June issue of Crafts Beautiful. Her neck was quite wobbly so I reinforced it with a ribbon choker.  Other than that and adding a handmade with love tag, I sewed her as per instructions.  When stuffing her face i tried to give her nose a bit of definition but i'm not sure how well it worked.

I also knitted a little rabbits outfit of a pair of trousers, a short dress and a scarf.

This morning I made a bracelet from a celtic style slider and a plaited thong. I added a lobster style closure and may go back and add an extender chain as it is just over 7 inches.

As I was knitting I needed some stitch markers as the plastic ones I bought from Amazon all broke on first use.  Whilst making myself some, I made another set of 7 to list on Etsy.  I haven't listed these one's yet but I have others listed that I made a couple of weeks ago.

George the Teddy

The young couple that live next door to us are moving today to Stonehaven.  Their baby was born on the same day last July as my step-daughters little girl, so as a farewell gift I knitted this little teddy featured in this months "Let's Knit" magazine.

I added some little buttons to the top of the arms and the waistcoat and added a hand knitted with love label.

Started on a little cotton dress this morning in a beautiful summer colours variagated yarn.

Strawberry bootees

Was knitting a little pair of strawberry bootees featured in the August 2013 of the Woman's Weekly Craft Special.  I did the first one last August and the second one yesterday and they are two different sizes!  I appear to have missed out 4 rows on the foot and added an extra 4 rib rows on the cuff on the original.  So will need to knit another two to match each.
